« Cosmological open quantum systems for the early Universe »

Cosmology has entered a precision era where ground-based telescopes and space missions collect an incredible amount of data constraining the shape and content of our universe. For future observational campaigns to stick to their promise, we need efficient and reliable theoretical tools to analyze the data. In particular, we need to parametrize extensions to the standard model of cosmology in a systematic manner. By its ability to encode the effects of complex environments into a handful of coefficients, Open Quantum Systems Theory has the potential to become one of these tools. Yet, it often invokes assumptions that do not straightforwardly extend to cosmology where spacetime is curved and dynamical, the Hamiltonian time-dependent and environments out-of-equilibrium. In this talk, I will present the implementation of Open Quantum System Theory in cosmology.
